Join us on a two-day wellbeing walk to show kindness to yourself and others
Are you ready to take on an inspiring journey that brings together community, well-being, and compassion?
We invite you to join the Wellbeing Challenge, a meaningful two-day walk dedicated to raising awareness and funds for the thousands of people across the UK who are experiencing homelessness.
Our walk culminates on World Homeless Day, making it an impactful opportunity to make a tangible difference to people facing poverty, isolation, and trauma.
What is the Wellbeing Challenge?
The Wellbeing Challenge is a 24-mile challenge walk taking place on the 9th & 10th of October 2024 , designed to help you boost your wellbeing and make a difference to the lives of people experiencing homelessness.
The walk begins in Lowestoft in Suffolk and journeys across the East Anglian countryside to our charity's home in Ditchingham, South Norfolk. You will be following a section of the newly formed, Via Beata pilgrimage, and you'll be connecting with the team of companions walking the other 430 miles of the pilgrimage, at our wellbeing event on the 10th October.
By joining the Wellbeing Challenge you'll be part of a much bigger uprising of kindness across the country and walking alongside the very people who will be benefitting from your support.
On the evening of the 9th of October, you're invited to join us in a solidarity sleepout in Ringsfield where you'll be greeted with warm soup and a warm welcome and have the opportunity to share stories and solidarity with people who have and are still experiencing homelessness.
You will embark on a beautiful route, creating community with fellow fundraisers, prioritising your physical and mental health, all while championing our charity.
Choose to join us for one day or two and optionally join our solidarity sleepout in Ringsfield.
Raise money for people experiencing homelessness via your personalised fundraising page.
The Impact of the Wellbeing Challenge
By joining the Wellbeing Walk you will be directly supporting people affected by homelessness. Emmaus Norfolk & Waveney support companions with a home in our community, tailored long-term therapeutic support, and work and training opportunities for as long as needed.
Hear Chloe's story below:
We are seeing a rapid demand for our services and to help us give more people a home we are creating a new social enterprise Bed and Breakfast on our heritage 19th century site. Once the B&B is open, the income from one bedroom annually will generate enough to support an individual in our community for a whole year. By fundraising for our charity, you will have an impact on companions year after year. As part of an international movement against poverty, we will also be donating a small proportion of funds raised to support other Emmaus projects that will empower people across Africa, South America, Europe, and the UK.
